Frozen
Frozen, Disney’s hit animated movie, will soon have a sequel hitting theaters, according to one of the movie’s stars.
Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa in Frozen, recently revealed that there will be a Frozen 2 and that it’s “in the works,” in an interview with The Telegraph. Menzel, who starred on Broadway as Maureen in Rent and Elphaba in Wicked, also said that Frozen will be turned into a musical.
Menzel is hopeful that she’ll be reprising the voice of Elsa in the Frozen sequel, but revealed that she won’t be playing the princess on Broadway.
“Not the stage show — I don’t know what will happen with that — but the movie, hopefully,” Menzel told The Telegraph about her involvement. “We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride.”
In other Frozen news, the movie has been adapted for a Frozen on Ice production. Six-minute short Frozen Fever, which will include a new Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez musical number, will be debuting in the spring of 2015.
In Frozen Fever, “Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk,” according to Disney.
