Frank Ocean’s 18-Year-Old Brother, Ryan Breaux, Dies In Car Accident

Frank Ocean‘s 18-year-old brother Ryan Breaux died in a car accident early Sunday morning in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Breaux was in the car with 20-year-old friend Ezekiel “Zeek” Bishop when the vehicle left the road and hit a tree in the road median.

When deputies arrived at the scene, the Tesla was up in flames, and fire department officials pronounced the occupants of the car dead at the scene of the crash. The car had been severely damaged and was split in half on impact.

A memorial was held on Sunday at the crash site. Friends and family placed flowers near the site of the crash and tearfully remembered the young men.

Paris Brosnan, son of actor Pierce Brosnan, posted pictures of Breaux to his Instagram, remembering his friend.

“To my brother, who was talented beyond belief, possessed a heart of gold, had an energy that was infectious, a smile & laugh that lifted everyone’s spirit, and was a loyal and authentic friend to anyone he knew,” he wrote in the caption. “You were just getting started and ready to show the world who you were. You were a leader and you had a whole army of loyal soldiers behind you. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you most, thank you for all the wild nights, thank you for your music and all the late night studio sessions with Fray, thank you for blessing us ALL with your presence on this earth.”

It is not immediately clear who was driving the car at the time of the accident, or what caused the crash, though officials said speed had something to do with it. The coroners office has not officially announced the identity of the crash victims, and Ocean, whose real name is Christopher Breaux, has not yet made a public comment.
