Selena Gomez’s advocacy for mental health awareness may not be as effective as she’d like.
Some of her fans, known as Selenators, have been threatening Francia Raísa, the actress who donated her kidney to save Gomez’s life in 2017.
Paparazzi caught Raísa last month while walking her dog and attempted to ask her questions about her rumored feud with the singer.
Although the How I Met Your Mother actress avoided answering questions about Gomez, Raísa shared an unprintable comment that hurt her the most.

Raísa also spoke about the bullying she’s been receiving from Gomez’s fans and said it affected her mental health. Ironically, she pointed out, Gomez has a non-profit organization called Rare Impact Fund, which focuses on supporting mental health.
“It’s just, to me, it’s not what anyone wants for someone, and [Gomez] is literally out there saying, ‘Please stop.’ So I don’t understand why this is happening,” Raísa said.
Concluding their conversation, Raísa also mentioned, “In no way, shape, or form does anyone condone bullying, especially Selena.”
Gomez’s interview with Rolling Stone last year quoted her saying Taylor Swift was her “only friend in the industry.” Shortly after the quote was posted, Raísa commented, “Interesting,” but has since deleted it. Raísa also unfollowed Gomez and still does not follow her on Instagram.
Fans were quick to defend Gomez, saying the singer meant the music industry.
Despite all the rumors, Gomez called Raísa her “best friend” in Apple TV+’s Dear… this year, which may have been a subtle suggestion that they have reconciled since the rumors began.
