Francesca Hilton, the daughter of Zsa Zsa Gabor and Conrad Hilton, died Monday night in Los Angeles. She was 67.
Hilton’s death was confirmed by her rep Edward Lozzi to USA Today. According to Lozzi, she died of an “apparent stroke/ heart attack,” that even caught him completely by surprise.
“As Francesca’s publicist and one of her best friends I am shocked,” Lozzi said.
“We were on the phone minutes before she died,” Lozzi added. “We were discussing her book she was writing and a possible deal. She had to go to the restroom. She never made it out. I am so sad about my friend.”
Over the course of her storied life, Hilton briefly worked as an actress, stand-up comic and publicist. She was also involved with her late father’s philanthropic foundation.
“She is, in her own way, a fighter to have survived with her own identity,” Henry Jaglom told the Los Angeles Times in 2008. “She tried to have her own normal life and become her own normal person. To me, that’s a bit of an accomplishment when you come from that background.”
Prior to her death, Hilton was in a legal battle with her stepfather, Frederic von Anhalt, over her mother’s finances and medical care. Gabor is currently suffering from dementia and cannot speak.
Hilton is survived by her mother and her fiancé Michael Natsis.
