Frances Bean Cobain has asked her husband Isaiah Silva to hand over her father’s guitar — but Silva refuses to give the instrument back to her, according to reports on Wednesday.
Silva, a frontman for the rock band called The Eeries, reportedly claims that Bean gave him Kurt Cobain’s Martin D-18E guitar as a wedding present.
The Nirvana singer famously performed with the specially modified guitar at the band’s MTV Unplugged set, recorded just months before his death.
The guitar was once insured for $1 million and is supposedly worth even more millions now.
Bean, who is the only child of Cobain and Courtney Love, denies giving Silva the guitar and received the instrument as a gift from her mother.
“It’s a treasured heirloom of the family,” Love told TMZ. “It’s not [Silva’s] to take…. We’re very close, and [Frances] never planned on doing that.”
Bean filed for a divorce from Silva back in March, after being married for two years.
