Former Met Gala Greeter Eugenio Casnighi Was Fired For Being Too Hot & Going Viral, Overshadowing Kendall Jenner
Male model Eugenio Casnighi revealed that he was fired from the Met Gala as a greeter due to stealing the spotlight from celebrities, especially Kylie Jenner, due to his good looks.
In a series of TikTok videos, Casnighi divulged all the details of his firing. According to the 26-year-old, he had never revealed anything before, as he had signed a nondisclosure agreement. However, since his firing, he has told all about his experience.
“I’ve been working for the Met Gala as a model and greeter in 2022 and 2023, and I was supposed to do it this year. It’s Friday, and the Met Gala is on Monday, and they let me know today that they cut me off, they fired me because I went viral last year.”
As Jenner’s escort last year, he attended to her the whole evening, held her bag and helped her with whatever she needed. But many fan comments were about his good looks rather than the women he escorted, and he quickly went viral.
“So basically they said, ‘You made it about yourself, so we can’t have you work there anymore,'” Cashnighi said about his former employers.
In the second video, Cashnighi revealed he was forbidden from posting any Met Gala content, even if he was in it. In his third and final video on the matter, he disclosed details on certain celebrities, detailing that Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid and a few others were cordial and made small talk with him, others like Doja Cat were not pleasant to deal with.
The Met Gala took place on May 6 with the theme “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
