Former Eagles Star Jason Kelce ‘Pissed’ About Philadelphia 76ers’ Threat To Relocate To New Jersey

Jason Kelce, the former center for the Philadelphia Eagles, is angry about the Philadelphia 76ers’ threat to move out of the city.

The 76ers are still choosing a new arena location, considering the possibility of moving to Camden, New Jersey or remaining in Philadelphia.

They are trying to build a new arena in downtown Center City. On Wednesday, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker granted the 76ers financial support.

Kelce shared his dissatisfaction in an X post.

“To be clear, I would absolutely support the Sixers building their own arena in South Philadelphia,” he wrote. “The renting thing isn’t fair to them, I just hate the strong arming of the city to force an inevitable move into an area that the local residents, and vast majority of Philadelphians don’t prefer be in center city.”

“Again though, at the end of the day, we will all love it in 5-10 years when we have a beautiful new stadium in the heart of the city,” he added. “It just pisses me off now, with the way it’s happening, and I’m gonna be pissed for the foreseeable future at how this is being forced currently. The threat of moving the team is bulls—, I hate it.”

“Admittedly, I was scarred growing up in Cleveland by Art Modell and the Browns, which the city of Cleveland messed up on, but it doesn’t change that I have a strong disdain for owners making these threats with zero care for what the fans or residents who support the team want,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center shared.

Kelce and his brother, Travis Kelce, made history as the first brothers to play against each other in a Super Bowl.

They faced off when the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs played against each other in the big game on February 12, 2023.

Kelce had been seen getting emotional after the game when he embraced his mom, who wore a split Eagles-Chiefs shirt.

At one point, the Kelce brothers organized The Great Lombaby Games at the University of Cincinnati, placing athletes against academics in different competitions.

One of the games involved participants diving into pools filled with Skyline chili – an iconic Cincinnati dish.

Unfortunately for Kelce, his Super Bowl ring plunged into one of the pools and has never been found.
