Former Beauty Queen Lindsay Shiver Charged With Hiring Hitman To Kill Her Husband With Lover In The Bahamas

Former beauty queen Lindsay Shiver has been charged with conspiring to kill her husband, Robert Shiver, in the Bahamas.

Lindsay allegedly unsuccessfully conspired with two other Bahama natives that she hired to murder Robert on July 16 while she was on the Abaco Islands. The two other suspects have been identified as Terrance Adrian Bethel and Farron Newbold Jr. and were arrested. 

Bethel was allegedly Lindsay’s boyfriend with whom she was having an affair throughout her marriage. 

Police discovered this plot when they were looking into a separate investigation about a local burglary. They found texts on WhatsApp describing the plan when they were searching one of the burglary suspect’s phones. 

The former couple both attended Auburn University where Robert played for the football team. Lindsay was a cheerleader and a former beauty queen who won the Miss Houston County. Robert currently works as an insurance executive at Senior Life Insurance Company. 

They seemingly had the perfect life as they often posted on social media with their three sons and frequently traveled to the Caribbean where they own a house.

In 2020, Lindsay wrote a heartfelt message to her husband on their 10th wedding anniversary. “The key to a perfect marriage is having two imperfect people, who refuse to give up on each other,” she said. “So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe.”

Robert filed for divorce from Lindsay on April 5 stating that adultery was the reason after he supposedly found out about her affair. He is seeking primary custody of their children, sole use of the home they share.

The next day Lindsay also filed for divorce and accused him of domestic violence. She is arguing for primary custody, child support, sole use of the home and alimony from Robert. It was also noted that she is requesting funds from Robert to pay the debt that she has accumulated. 

Lindsay’s hearing on the charges is set to be this fall on October 5 and her divorce hearing on October 31.
