Following His Arraignment, Trump Promised ‘Food For Everyone’ At Cuban Restaurant, Then Leaves Without Paying

Donald Trump visited Versailles, a Cuban restaurant in Miami, on Tuesday following his arraignment in court. He was greeted by supporters while there, during which he loudly proclaimed, “Food for everyone!”

But according to the Miami New Times, the former president left after around 10 minutes without paying for any of the food.

Trump arrived at Versailles, a restaurant located in Miami’s Little Havana district, shortly following his arraignment for 37 counts in relation to his alleged mishandling of classified government documents. In the bakery section, a group of supporters sang “Happy Birthday” to Trump, who turned 77 on Wednesday.

Jorge Masvidal, a former mixed martial arts fighter, embraced Trump, calling him “everybody’s favorite president of all time.”

On Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty to his 37 charges. 31 of the charges were for deliberate storage of national defense information. The indictment claims he kept the documents in his Mar-a-Lago estate, including “in a ballroom, a bathroom and shower, an office space, his bedroom and a storage room.” He posted on Truth Social, “I AM AN INNOCENT MAN.”

Trump is dealing with multiple legal battles. He was indicted in March on charges regarding hush-money payments to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election.

In May, a New York court ordered Trump to pay $5 million in damages to E. Jean Carroll, after ruling that he sexually abused and defamed her.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan scheduled Carroll’s second defamation trial against Trump for January 15, 2024. This trial seeks at least $10 million in damages, partly based on comments the former president made at a CNN town hall last month, including that he never met Carroll and that her allegations were fabricated.
