Floyd Mayweather Attempted Murder, Kidnapping Arrest Report Proven False

Reports claiming that Floyd Mayweather had been arrested for attempted murder and kidnapping – after ordering two of his employees beaten for robbing jewelry from him – have been deemed false by law enforcement officials.

Floyd Mayweather Arrest Rumor

Mayweather’s scheme to have his employee’s roughed up was first reported by TMZ Sports, which claimed:

“We’re told the men claim they were contacted several weeks ago and instructed to meet Floyd at an off-site location.

When the men arrived, they claim Floyd was waiting for them — along with a number of his ‘people’ – who proceeded to beat the living crap out of them with various weapons, including clubs.

Our sources say the attack was so brutal the men could have easily died. Both men had broken arms and legs and were hospitalized for several days

One source put it this way, ‘It was some ‘Breaking Bad’ s–t.’”

Huzzlers.com, which bills itself as a “combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief,” revamped TMZ’s story to make it seem as though Mayweather was taken into custody on attempted murder and kidnapping charges.

Mayweather Arrest Rumor Debunked By Police

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department didn't make any attempt to arrest the boxer, nor has the police department so much as contacted Mayweather about the alleged incident. For now, the incident TMZ reported is merely rumor. No victim of the alleged assault has come forward, making the entire story moot.

“I’ve been trying to put this rumor to rest all week,” Laura Meltzer, a public information officer for the Las Vegas police, told the New York Daily News. “We’ve had a variety of reports that have come out stating this event occurred. We have not had a victim come forward and make a report like what is being alleged. So if this event occurred, it’s something where the victim has not come forward to the police to make an official complaint.”

“As of right now, the bureau commander over there is not aware of any complaint that has been officially filed,” Meltzer added. “So again, if this is a victim who is choosing not to come forward and make a report — then that’s up to the victim to do. We don’t have any say in that. There is no criminal complaint on file so there is no reason to go and contact Mr. Mayweather.”
