Reality TV star Tarek El Moussa, known for shows like Flip or Flop and The Flip Off, was cited by police in Las Vegas last week after getting into a physical altercation with another man at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. El Moussa was charged with battery for allegedly “pushing and using his right hand to punch” the man, whose name was redacted for privacy reasons, “in his head multiple times.”

El Moussa was not arrested for the incident and maintained that he was defending his elderly father in the confrontation. “Tarek intends to contest these allegations in a court of law where he will assert his right to self-defense and the defense of his elderly and infirmed father,” his lawyer said in a statement.

The man targeted by El Moussa intends to press charges and told police he was sitting at a roulette table when someone he did not know approached him “aggressively and hit him.” El Moussa contended that the man hit his father on the back with his hand, prompting the confrontation.

El Moussa, 43, is known for flipping properties in Southern California, selling over 1,000 homes, and owning apartment buildings. He also founded TEM Capital, a commercial real estate investment firm, in July 2022. He gained fame for co-hosting HGTV’s Flip or Flop with his former wife, Christina Haack.

The two had a very public split, and El Moussa is now married to former Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young.

The altercation resulted in the man in question leaving the casino with purple and reddish bruising beneath his right eye and a half-inch cut located on the bridge of the nose.
