Flavor Flav’s National Anthem Performance At Milwaukee Bucks Game Goes Viral, Rapper Defends His Performance

Rapper Flavor Flav’s rendition of the national anthem went viral online.

During the performance, Flav wore a No. 59 Milwaukee Bucks jersey, a white hoodie and a red chain. He sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of a game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks.

His animated performance featured several stutters and included repeating the phrase “of the brave” three times.

“YEAH BOY. [Shout out] @FlavorFlav for the flavorful anthem!” the Bucks wrote on its X page.

His rendition caught the attention of many on social media.

Some compared it to Fergie’s cover of the anthem during the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, where NBA stars struggled to hold their laughter.

Flavor Flav later took to Twitter to talk about the performance.

“The anthem was a long-time bucket list. That was fun!” he said. “I can’t live my life worried about what people might say about me. I won’t let that stop me from trying new things and doing things I wanna do. Some people might not like that. But a sure failure is if you stop trying.”

The Hawks won the game 127-110.
