The first trailer for the next installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise leaves a chilling feeling.
The first minute of the trailer is dark, showing the remains of a burning British ship, with an exciting musical composition. “Jack Sparrow, do you know this pirate?” asks Javier Bardem‘s character, the villain, as he strolls through the wreckage. A young, scared sailor confesses, “Only by name.”
“Find Sparrow for me,” the bad pirate spits. “And relay a message from Capitan Salazar. Tell him death comes straight for him.”
Humor is thrown into the mix as Salazar continues, “Would you say that to him? Please?”
The film brings back Johnny Depp‘s Captain Jack Sparrow, and is directed by Roachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Orlando Bloom‘s Will Turner will also return for the film, who was last seen at the end of the third film in the series.
The most recent installment, On Strange Tides, came out in 2011 and was met with major box office success despite mixed critic reviews. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to be released May 26, 2017.
