First Trailer For ‘Supergirl’ Season 6 Is Released

The first official trailer for the sixth and final season of Supergirl has been released. The first few episodes of the sixth season of Supergirl will conclude the ongoing plot thread that took place during the previous year due to the production of the fifth season being shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The beginning of the season will see Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and her team go up against the sinister alien organization Leviathan as well as Clark Kent/Superman’s (Tyler Hoechlin) iconic archenemy Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer), who plans to get rid of Supergirl once and for all with his brand new superpowers.

The trailer opens with Lex in a chamber that gives him powers while his mother Lillian (Brenda Strong) operates the machine. Lillian asks her son if he is alright. Lex responds by punching a metal object while leaving a large dent before declaring that he is more than alright. The music in the trailer starts to pick up as the preview cuts to Lex stating that aliens should not be Earth’s saviors and vows to destroy Supergirl. An unintimidated Kara is not impressed and simply tells him to bring it on. Kara is then seen with Brainiac 5 (Jesse Rath) and Nia Nal/Dreamer (Nicole Maines) and tells them that they will find a way to strip Lex of his powers and make him mortal again. The trailer soon shows Lex and Supergirl’s team in the fortress of solitude. Lex states that once he has fixed this planet, he will do what they Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) failed to do and fix every other planet. He is then suddenly punched out by his sister Lena (Katie McGrath), who jokingly asks if anyone else wanted to do that. J’onn J’ones/Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) explains that even if they win or lose, everything will be different. Kara replies that she is willing to take that risk if it stops Lex and saves half the population. A handful of action scenes are shown towards the end of the trailer, including one where Lex destroys the fortress of solitude after bragging that Kara has not seen him in action yet. The trailer ends with a distraught Nia promising to an unknown figure that she will not let them die.

The first episode of the sixth and final season of Supergirl premiered on March 30 on The CW network.
