First-Time Grandmother Melinda Gates Shares Photo With Newborn Grandchild

Bill Gates and his ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, have become first-time grandparents after the birth of their granddaughter.

Bill’s daughter, Jennifer Gates, and her Olympic equestrian husband, Nayel Nassar, welcomed their daughter earlier this month.

The 58-year-old philanthropist uploaded a photo on her Instagram, holding the baby girl in her arms. The first time grandma captioned the post, “There is nothing quite like holding your first grandchild 🥰 It seems like just yesterday I was holding Jenn at this age. Now she has a baby of her own—and I am bursting with pride watching her and Nayel step into their new role as parents.”

In a heartwarming picture, Melinda is propped up on a white chair, holding her granddaughter in her arms as she smiles, flustered with the most anticipated moment of a grandmother’s life.

Bill also took to Instagram to share his love for his new granddaughter. “I can’t wait to watch you discover the world,” he captioned the cute post where he held the baby in his arms.

Jennifer and Nassar celebrated their holiday baby shower back in December in New York.

They then announced the birth of their daughter earlier this month in a joint Instagram post. “Sending love from our healthy little family 💓🙏🥰,” she captioned the post of the couple holding the baby girl’s feet.

The couple has yet to reveal the name of the baby.

Gates’s daughter Phoebe was recently the topic of online debate over her relationship with her boyfriend Robert Ross.
