The first glimpses of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange have emerged thanks to various Twitter users, who spotted filming for the upcoming Marvel superhero flick taking place on the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal.

The images feature an uncharacteristically shaggy Cumberbatch and, according to ComicBook.com, likely depict the Doctor in an origin phase.

The film marks the usually clean cut Cumberbatch’s first foray into superhero territory and also stars Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Leading the project is Sinister director, Scott Derickson, working toward a November 4, 2016 release date.
