Jon Favreau released the first footage from The Jungle Book, Disney’s latest live action film starring Ben Kingsley and Scarlett Johansson.
In anticipation of the release of the first, full-length trailer for The Jungle Book, Favreau and Disney released a short, seconds-long teaser on social media on Saturday, Sept. 12. The full length trailer is expected to debut on Monday.
The teaser features haunting images of the jungle and a glimpse of a shadowy Mowgli figure. Mowgli in the film will be played by newcomer Neel Sethi, who is one of the only actors actually physically onscreen. Other stars offered their voices to the film, including Bill Murray, who will voice the friendly bear Baloo, and Kingsley, who voices Bagheera.
This is the first time Jungle Book footage has been released publicly, though Disney did preview exclusive footage of the film at their D23 Expo in August. The Jungle Book is expected to be released in theaters on April 15, 2016.
