Bachelor In Paradise filming shuts down
Production of the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise has been halted due to alleged sexual misconduct between two contestants over the weekend.
Several contestants of the ABC dating show were flown out of Mexico, where the competition was being held, on Sunday.
“We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico,” Warner Bros. said in a statement. “We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”
The alleged sexual misconduct was reportedly between contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios, according to Amy Kaufman of The Los Angeles Times. The two former villains, on their respective seasons, engaged in sexual behavior that made a producer uncomfortable. The producer went on to file suit against Warner Bros., who promptly shut down production of the show, according to reports.
The summer spin-off from The Bachelor franchise brings together past contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, giving the forlorn lovers a second chance at finding a partner. The cast members for the upcoming season of Paradise were announced only a week ago.
In addition to Olympios and Jackson, Raven Gates, Alexis Waters, Amada Stanton, Taylor Nolan, Ben Zorn, Robby Hayes, Jasmine Goode, Derek Peth, Lacey Mark, Kristina Schulman, Danielle Maltby, Vinny Ventiera, and Alex Woytkiw have been cast in the fourth season.
With the halt on production, it is unclear if Paradise will continue filming after the investigation or if it will be canceled entirely.
