'Fifty Shades of Black'
Fifty Shades of Black has dropped a new clip ahead of the release of the Fifty Shades of Grey parody starring Marlon Wayans this weekend.
In the clip from Fifty Shades of Black, Wayans and Kali Hawk recreate the Fifty Shades of Grey scene in which Christian leads Anastasia in a brief dance before taking her to dinner with his family. “Where did you learn to dance?” Hannah (Hawk) asks Christian Black (Wayans).
“This little club in Tampa,” he reveals before it cuts to a strip club reminiscent of Magic Mike.
Wayans, who has been doing the promo rounds this week for Fifty Shades of Black, expressed his belief that the film will do well at the box office. “Mom is probably not going to see this one. My rated R-rated movies, no,” Wayans confessed on the Today show, adding hopefully, “If she doesn’t come, or if she leaves early, it means it’s going to be a huge success!”
Wayans, who is best known for the Scary Movie parody films, felt that there was no way around tackling a parody of Fifty Shades of Grey after he watched the film starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
“I didn’t want to do it,” Wayans deadpanned. “I was minding my own business, but God called out, ‘Son, I need you to go get this one’.”
Wayans went on to reveal that making the parody was relatively easy, considering what they were working with – and lots of fun. In his spin on the narrative, Christian is a full-fledged stalker, who stole his fortune and is actually horrible in bed.
Fifty Shades of Black hits theaters Friday, Jan. 29.
