The Fast & Furious 7 official trailer was released on Sunday featuring Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.
"Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7,” reads the caption of the trailer on YouTube. “James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black.”
In addition to the cast of characters that have made appearances in earlier films in the franchise, newcomers Jason Statham, Dijimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell all appear in the trailer. MMA fighter Ronda Rousey is also featured, as is martial arts legend Tony Jaa.
Fast & Furious 7’s trailer reveals that the franchise is far from running out of ideas for high-octane car chases and memorable stunts. At under three minutes, the trailer shows the crew parachuting down to the ground in their cars, only to take off chasing an armored bus. Brian (Walker) leaps from one car into the bus to save a woman named Megan (Nathalie Emmanuel from Game of Thrones).
Brian manages to toss the woman onto the hood of a car traveling close behind him, but doesn’t have time to follow suit. The scene ends with Brian escaping the doomed vehicle just as it's about to go off a cliff and leaping to catch the back bumper of one of the crew’s cars.
“It looks like the sins of London have followed us home,” Dom (Diesel) says as he Roman Pearce (Gibson), Tej (Ludacris), Letty (Rodriguez) and newbie Megan stand looking at downtown Los Angeles.
Fast & Furious 7 is slated to hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
