16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is defending the decision of her now 13-year-old daughter Sophia to get a septum nose piercing as a birthday present, joking that she took the pain “better than her COVID shot.”

Abraham began the video by remarking in shock, “I’m the mom of a teenager now, holy moly!” On her daughter’s decision to get the piercing, she said, “I think the generation of 13 is much different than my generation of 13,” she told TMZ.

She confirmed that Sophia is the first in her family to ever get any sort of nose piercing and the youngest one at that. “I would rather it be by a professional, sanitized and clean, than my teen going sneaking off and doing it herself. Getting an infection and whatnot,” the reality star and author sensibly added.

Abraham admitted that she was not initially supportive of the decision, but she made sure that “we abided by the law. I am doing my best as a parent to make sure that she is healthy and happy. And I cover those bases, so congratulations to Sophia … if she wants to get more piercings, more power to her. If she doesn’t, that’s awesome too.”

As permissive as Abraham was when it came to allowing piercings, she will not be a “cool mom” when it comes to getting tattoos, saying “I don’t know if I’ll be down for a tattoo.” Critics have come for Abraham in the past, calling her a bad mom for allowing Sophia to dye her hair purple back in 2021, but it seems like Abraham is making the right choice and listening to what her daughter wants, not want random people online want from her.

Abraham was recently arrested for assaulting a security guard at an L.A. club. She denies the charges.
