Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them‘s latest trailer promises a film that just might live up to the expectations for a Harry Potter prequel.
The latest trailer opens with Percival Graves (Colin Farrell) speaking to Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in voiceover, clearly skeptical about the wizard and his animate luggage. While Graves speaks, Scamander is seen arriving to New York City from London by boat, the many magical creatures inconspicuously stored in his suitcase.
“You’re an interesting man, Mr. Scamander. Just like your suitcase, I think there’s much more to you than meets the eye,” Graves says. “Kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life with a beast.”
“Yet one of your teachers, argued strongly against your expulsion,” Graves continues before mentioned the eventual Hogwarts headmaster. “I wonder, what makes Albus Dumbledore so fond of you, Mr Scamander.”
In addition to Graves’ threatening evaluation of Scamander, the latest trailer also includes glimpses of humor.
The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts dropped back in December and served to introduce Scamander, the wizarding world’s foremost magizoologist. It showed some of the beasts escaping from their leather bound trap, leading Porpetina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston) to bring the information she has about Scamander to the Magical Congress of the United States of America.
Set primarily in 1930s New York City, Fantastic Beasts follows Scamander’s search for the world’s most fascinating magical creatures to complete what will ultimately become Hogwarts students’ greatest resource on the subject – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters. Nov. 18.
