Fans of the Wizarding World can finally get an peek at the Fantastic Beasts sequel, The Crimes of Grindelwald.

While many characters are reprising their role in JK Rowling’s spin-off of the Harry Potter series, such as main character Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller), fans are also excited about the newest additions to the cast. The most anticipated being Jude Law who will be playing the role of the genius wizard and Hogwarts headmaster, Dumbledore. Other new cast members include Zoe Kravitz as Leta Lestrange and Johnny Deppdespite fans disapproval due to his recent domestic violence allegations, as the main villain of the movie Gellert Grindelwald.

The trailer does not reveal too much about the plot, however, it does shows Dumbledore and Scamander teaming up to find a recently escaped Grindelwald, whose escape was shown at the very end of the first Fantastic Beasts.

Fans are also excited about the movie because it will reveal more about the dynamic relationship between Grindelwald and Dumbledore. In the past, Rowling has confirmed that Dumbledore is gay and was in love with Grindelwald in his youth. However, director David Yates told fans that his sexuality will not be explicitly explained in the film. “He had a very intense relationship with Grindelwald when they were young men. They fell in love with each other’s ideas, and ideology, and each other,” Yates explained in an interview.

Despite the movie not focusing on their relationship, fans of the franchise are still excited to see the prequel to world of Hogwarts, which takes place 70 years prior to the main series.
