However, many fans were unable to get their hands on the items due to heavy web traffic crashing the site. Jeffree Star was the first to address fan concerns in a tweet right after the Conspiracy Collection launched.
“Before the full #shanedawsonxjeffreestar collection could even go live, you guys broke the site. Not all of the products went live when we launched. We are currently fixing all issues on our end and praying that Shopify can get back on track shortly.” Star tweeted.
Many fans shared their frustration through various channels of social media. One Twitter user wrote that he gave up due to the hassle.
As the sale progressed, fans seemed to be understanding of the technical malfunctions, and continued purchasing products. Despite the website crashing and some confusion amongst fans, the title product in the Conspiracy Collection, the Conspiracy Palette, sold out within a few hours. Other products, including the velour liquid lipsticks, sold out on Jeffree Star Cosmetics’ website.
The Conspiracy Collection is expected to be restocked and open for sale to the public by the end of November.
