In a sit-down conversation with uInterview, Irish actor Gavin Drea reflected on his favorite part of filming this season of the psychological thriller series Surface. The Apple TV+ series’ first season, released in 2022, follows Sophia (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who sustains a traumatic head injury that leaves her with severe memory loss. As she tries to piece her life back together, she realizes that those who are “helping” her might not have the best of intentions. A new character in the show, Drea gave an overview of his role to uInterview founder Erik Meers. “So I play Callum Wash, who’s an investigative journalist working for a magazine in London,” he said. “At the start of the show, Gugu’s character gets in touch with Callum because he’s got a bit of a reputation for breaking stories about rich powerful elite people and companies and bringing their corruption to light. So she gets in touch with him and offers potentially to be a source in the story about Britain’s most powerful family, the Huntleys.” The second season of Surface will be released on AppleTV+ on Feb. 21.
