EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Director Atom Egoyan On Amanda Seyfried’s ‘Emotional Availability’ In His New Film ‘Seven Veils’
In a sit-down conversation with uInterview, director Atom Egoyan spoke about what Amanda Seyfried brought to her character in his new film Seven Veils, which follows Seyfried’s character, a theatre director who is given the chance to produce her former mentor’s prized work and in the process is overcome by disturbing memories from her past. “What she brings is this incredible sense of emotional availability,” Egoyan told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “Because I knew that from the beginning, this character was on her own, there’s no one supporting her, the series of relationships around her are not conventional ones, and the only way this was going to work was if the audience had access to her and understood her and felt for her…[Seyfried] makes us feel for this character…this is Amanda, she’s inspiring this role for me. Yeah, I can’t imagine anyone else.” Seven Veils is now in theaters.
