Evan Ross, son of Diana Ross and current boyfriend of Ashlee Simpson, will be joining the cast of The Hunger Games for the two final films, Mockingjay Parts 1&2.
Ross will portray Messalla, a cameraman working with Cressida to capture video of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in action and leading the rebellion. The news was officially announced on Catching Fire’s official Twitter account.
Ross, who previously starred in ATL and appeared on The CW’s 90210, joins new cast members Natalie Dormer and Stef Dawson, as well as stars of the series, Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is set for release Nov. 21, 2014, with Mockingjay Part 2 scheduled to be released a year later, Nov. 20, 2015.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the sequel to the hit The Hunger Games, will be released Nov. 22, 2013.
