Eva Mendes denied she’s pregnant on The Ellen Show on Wednesday, telling Ellen DeGeneres the rumors started when she was spotted avoiding intrusive airport scanners.

“It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know, those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy," Mendes told Ellen DeGeneres.

"They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out,” the actress and girlfriend of Ryan Gosling added. “I always ask for a personal pat-down. I don't mean in person, I meant in private because they can take you. Ladies, I want you to know that they can take you in private, they can take you into an area."

DeGeneres did her best to trip up the The Place Behind the Pines actress. "Good idea. Good idea. That's the way to get a Valentine," DeGeneres joked. "Even better, you can go to an area."

The host then added, “No, you're not pregnant. I know. I just wanted to give you the chance to announce if it's a boy or girl." Mendes responded, “No! No!” in between laughs.

Mendes Dishes On Her Valentine's Day Plans

When DeGeneres changed the subject to Valentine’s Day, things didn’t get any less awkward. Mendes claimed to not be one to celebrate the romantic holiday – and that she’d be spending it solo with some food and The Notebook, which her current beau starred in with “one of the great loves of his life,” Rachel McAdams.

"I'm not a big Valentine's Day person. I'll probably just order a deep dish and watch The Notebook or something," Mendes shared. "Just cry, weep."

Mendes will next appear in How To Catch a Monster, which was written and directed by Gosling. The film also stars Saorise Ronan, Christina Hendricks and Matt Smith and is due in theaters June 19, 2014.
