Ethan Slater’s Ex, Lilly Jay, Speaks Out About His Romance With Ariana Grande: My Family Is ‘Collateral Damage’

Lilly Jay has spoken about her estranged husband Ethan Slater‘s relationship with singer Ariana Grande. Jay had celebrated four years of marriage with Slater last fall, but he filed for divorce earlier this week. The former couple also share a baby son.

“[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl,” Jay told Page Six. “My family is just collateral damage.” Jay also told the outlet that she was focused on being “a good mom” to her and Slater’s child.

Grande separated from her husband, Dalton Gomez, earlier this year after almost two years of marriage. The pair has reportedly been working on their friendship since the split.

Grande and Slater were close on the set of Jon M. Chu‘s new Wicked film, where Grande plays Glinda Upland and Slater plays Boq, who coincidentally, has a crush on Glinda.

But the cast and crew believed their relationship to be more of a friendship rather than a romance.

Slater and Grande had spent time out together many times in London. After visiting the set in April, Jay reportedly found out that Slater and Grande were having an affair.

Slater and Jay had been separated privately for two months before the Broadway alum began dating Grande.
