Eric Trump Mocked Mercilessly On Social Media For Hypocrisy For False Claims About Father’s Indictment On Fox News

Eric Trump was mocked on social media after he made hypocritical claims during an interview with Fox News.

“It’s sad,” he said. “We’re no better than some of these Third World countries around the world. We are literally trying to imprison political opponents. We’re better than this.”

He additionally claimed that the Department of Justice wants to imprison his father for “political speech” over the statements Donald Trump made before the January 6 riot.

Eric Trump was referring to his father’s recent indictments – but was incorrect in his statements. He was attempting to defend his father’s legal problems but forgot to mention his own Donald Trump’s past actions.

The former president is facing multiple charges related to money he paid to porn star Stormy Daniels, mishandling classified documents and conspiring to overturn the 2020 election.

Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to the four charges he is facing related to the January 6 riots and the 2020 election on Thursday.

The Trump family’s critics were quick to catch Eric Trump’s mistakes. They also pointed out that Donald Trump has threatened his opponents with jail countless times since 2015. This includes him chanting “lock her up” when speaking about Hillary Clinton when she was his 2016 opponent. In a debate with Clinton, Donald Trump specifically told her, “You’ll be in jail,” if he became president.

Eric Trump followed his dad’s footsteps taking the same chant but directing it at President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, during a rally in 2019.

People voiced their opinions on Twitter including the former Rep. Joe Walsh (D). “Uh, Lock her up?” he wrote.

MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan remarked, “The brazenness of the ‘lock her up’ crowd. The sheer brazenness and shamelessness. This is what authoritarianism looks like. Flatly denying and/or rewriting reality and seeing if their followers follow along.”

Another commented, “You guys had no problem with the ‘lock her up chants,’ the email lady didn’t even break the law.” And, “Bro, your father wanted to imprison Hillary Clinton.”
