Empty Lot Next To Jeff Bezos’ Miami House Goes On The Market For $200 Million

An empty waterfront lot next to Jeff Bezos’ property in South Florida is on the market for $200 million, listed by an anonymous seller.

Ilya Reznik, who is brokering the transaction, said that the mystery person is “willing to negotiate” the selling price for the 1.84 acres of land. “I’ve already had a couple of showings and obviously the buyer is going to be a billionaire,” she said.

The lot is located at Indian Creek, which is a man-made barrier Island, nicknamed the “Billionaire Bunker,” in Miami-Dade County. The island hosts properties by high-profile individuals such as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, as well as Tom Brady.

Reznik claimed that the sale of the land is predicted to set a new record for the region, even if it fails to sell for the desired price. She asserted, “I think $200 million is a big number, but I’m confident that in the end, the buyer will pay a little extra because Bezos is a neighbor… those prices just didn’t exist before he came to Indian Creek.”

The Delaware company SMM Sunny Holding LLC purchased the empty land in 2018 for $27.5 million.

Bezos paid $68 million for his mansion and $79 million for an adjacent property in 2023. Reznik and the mystery seller seemingly believe buyers value having Bezos as a neighbor sizably more than Bezos values the land.

Bezos announced his move to Miami from Seattle last year.

According to Reznik, the owners were initially going to build on the land and had plans for a 25,000-square-foot estate, but then decided to sell. They are willing to give the plans for the mansion to the new owners of the land.

According to The New York Post, the land has 200 feet of Biscayne Bay waterfront, enough space for a new owner to build a deep-water dock for a 180-foot mega yacht. 

The artificial island, located 15 miles from Miami and about 300 acres big, houses approximately 40 homes and one elite country club. There is only one bridge to get onto the island, and the police department patrols the perimeter 27/7.
