Emma Watson, 21, the suddenly adult star of the Harry Potter films — the final installment of which is rocking the box office as we speak — may be in the limelight for reasons other than her higher education plans, but everyone’s still whispering about what might be in store for Hogwarts’ favorite brainiac after she reportedly had so much trouble adjusting to life at Brown University.
Though she did take a semester off from the Ivy League institution, Watson recently denied rumors that she was bullied, terrorized, or even harassed at Brown. On the contrary, she recognized that the students were quite supportive. “I’ve never even been asked for an autograph on campus,” she told The Sunday Times Magazine. “I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook.”
After rampant speculation, Watson has laid rumors to rest about the future of her education. “I’m still a student at Brown,” she clarified to The Virginian-Pilot. “It’s just that I’ll spend my third year abroad — at Oxford,” she said, indicating that she’ll return to her native England this fall. “Then I’ll return to Brown to complete my last year.”
