Emma Watson Shows Off Temporary “Times Up” Tattoo – With A Misspelling!

Emma Watson showed off a new temporary tattoo at a 2018 Oscars after-party, though it was misspelled.

The Harry Potter actress is being maligned on social media because her tattoo, which is an homage to the Time’s Up movement, is missing an apostrophe. “Times up,” is what it reads. If she had opted for “#TimesUp,” then the lack of punctuation would be appropriate, as Twitter doesn’t allow any in a hashtag.

But, because Watson graduated with a degree in English Literature from Brown University, the internet will not let her live the misspelling down. The actress took to Twitter to make a self-deprecating joke about the incident. “Fake tattoo proofreading position available. Experience with apostrophes a must,” she wrote.

The actress is an outspoken supporter of the Time’s Up movement and often backs up her support with action. She donated $1.4 million of her own money to the U.K.-based fund, which helps combat sexual harassment and assault. She is also a leader in the current women’s rights and equality movements, having started the He for She movement on social media.

She is also a UN Women Goodwill ambassador and attended the Golden Globes this year with Marai Larasi, who heads an organization called Imkaan, which works to end violence against minority women.

“The clock’s been ticking on the abuse of power. I stand in solidarity with women across every industry to say #TIMESUP on abuse, harassment, and assault,” Watson wrote on Instagram on Jan. 2. “#TIMESUP on oppression and marginalization. #TIMESUP on misrepresentation and underrepresentation. Sign the solidarity letter and donate to the @TIMESUPNOW Legal Defense Fund.”
