In the business class section of an Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai, an “extremely violent” and “drunk” passenger was recorded headbutting a flight attendant.
A Pakistani journalist Amir Mateen posted footage from the incident on X quoting a terrified passenger saying: “Drunk guy extremely violent. Restrained and handcuffed by Emirates cabin crew but I think Pak authorities let him go as he was well connected.”
The video depicts a man wearing jeans and black and white Adidas, being held by the collar by a male flight attendant. He then headbutts the flight attendant and is seen being restrained by the cabin crew. A female flight attendant then helped supply the other attendants with what appeared to be a string to tie up the unruly passenger.
Another video later showed the man being tied down into a wheelchair with his hands behind his back. He was described by other passengers as being “drunk” and “extremely violent.”
Violent airline incidents are on the rise. In November, a man on a Southwest flight was hospitalized after opening the cabin door and jumping on the wing before takeoff.
