Emily Maynard, ‘Bachelorette’ Star, Announces 4th Pregnancy After Emergency Surgery

Bachelorette alumna Emily Maynard is expecting her fourth child, her third child with husband Tyler Johnson.

While announcing the pregnancy, Maynard also revealed that she underwent emergency surgery when she was six months pregnant. “Way too many tacos at lunch. —Seriously though, as scared as I am to have 3 under 3, I’m so grateful God picked me to be the mommy to my kids and we can’t wait for number 4 to get here!” Maynard shared in an Instagram photo featuring her pregnant belly. “This pregnancy has been filled with lots of hot wings, ranch dressing, an emergency appendix surgery at six months, and swollen ankles all day every day but I wouldn’t change it for the world. My little tribe can’t wait to meet their new brother or sister (it’s a surprise!) in the next couple of weeks!”

Emergency appendix surgery indicates that Maynard had to get her appendix taken out immediately, probably because it had become infected. Appendectomies are not rare during pregnancy, though they can be hard to diagnose, as many of the symptoms are also symptoms of being pregnant.

Maynard and Johnson welcomed their son Gibson Kyle under a year ago, and also have Jennings Tyler, who is 2. Maynard has a 12-year-old daughter, Ricki, from a previous marriage.
