Emily Blunt attended the American Institute for Stuttering “Freeing Voices Changing Lives Gala” Monday night in New York City in a chic jumpsuit.
Blunt donned a navy-blue jumpsuit from Elisabetta Franchi Fall 2015 line. The tailed outfit featured a satin cummerbund and a sleeveless, pleated top. Blunt completed her look with metallic Kurt Geiger ‘Bond’ pumps and OFIRA diamond jewels.
Get The Look For Less: Jumpsuit, Neiman Marcus, $468. Shoes, Zappos, $79.
On the red carpet, Blunt, who struggled with a stutter as a child and teen, posed with fellow former-stutterer Ed Sheeran.
Blunt, who hosted the American Institute for Stuttering event, pressed Sheeran about whether or not he’d be making an appearance on good pal Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour during the gala.
“It wouldn’t really be a surprise if I was like, ‘Yeah, it’s actually going to be this date at this time,’ ” Sheeran, 24, said. “So I’m going to say no and then give you a wink.”
“It means yes. That is a solid yes,” Blunt replied.
Later on, Sheeran was honored at the gala and gave a speech about overcoming his stutter.
“Embrace your weirdness,” he said towards the end of his speech, after acknowledging that rapping helped him get over his stutter. “From a stuttering point of view, don’t treat it as an issue. Work through it and get the treatment you want to get, but don’t ever see it as a plight on your life. Carry on pushing forward.”
