Emily Blunt stunned in a fashion-forward white dress at a photocall at the Cannes Film Festival for her new film Sicario.

Emily Blunt’s Cannes Look

Blunt wore a white patterned dress from Peter Pilotto’s Fall 2015 collection that was elegant and perfect for the daytime event. The dress’ pattern featured pink, green, blue and yellow shapes that gave it a modern look. Blunt completed her outfit with yellow Jimmy Choo ‘Private’ sandals and Jacquie Aiche jewelry.

Though Blunt wore high heels to the photocall, she doesn’t believe that anyone should be banned from events for not doing so. When Blunt learned from a reporter at Cannes that women were turned away from the red-carpet premiere of Carol for wearing flats, she said it was disappointing and that she’d like to wear flats everywhere herself.

“I think everyone should wear flats, to be honest,” Blunt said, according to Variety. “We shouldn’t wear high heels anymore. That’s just my point of view I prefer to wear Converse sneakers. That’s very disappointing.”

Sicario director Denis Villenueve seemed to agree with Blunt, and offered to join the fight for Cannes footwear equality with Sicario actors Benicia del Toro and Josh Brolin. “As a sign of protest, Benicio, Josh and I will walk the stairs in high heels tonight,” he joked.

In Sicario, Blunt plays an FBI agent, who heads to Mexico on a mission to take down a Mexican cartel boss with members of the CIA. It’s slated to hit theaters later this year.
