The end is coming, and it’s starting to hit Emilia Clarke.
Even though filming for the final season is still taking place, the Game of Thrones star is starting to get sentimental and saying her goodbyes.
The Mother of Dragons shared a heartfelt Instagram post where she says goodbye to Northern Island, the home of the HBO series’ production for almost a decade. She also gives a goodbye to the “family I’ll never stop missing.”
Even though goodbyes are starting, production for the show’s final six episodes are still taking place. They are expected to finish filming in July or early August.
Production is currently underway on the show’s final six episodes, and is expected to wrap in July or early August. Clarke did not share any insight on what season eight may entail.
This is not the first of goodbyes, as the cast gathered for a wrap party earlier this month. At the time, Clarke says the show’s final months are “kicking [her] emotional butt”.
While this is the end for the original show, Game of Thrones fans can still look forward to the confirmed prequel series, which is described to be taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones.
The final season does not have an exact premiere date yet, but is confirmed to come out in 2019.
