Elon Musk Says He Wouldn’t Trust Bill Gates ‘To Babysit My Kids’ After Gates Slams Him For ‘Killing World’s Poorest Children’
Elon Musk fired back at Bill Gates after the Microsoft mogul said he was “killing the world’s poorest children” with the DOGE cost-cutting initiatives by saying he wouldn’t trust Gates around his kids because of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Musk’s comments were regarding Gates’ relationship with Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who committed suicide while incarcerated in a New York jail in 2019.
Gates stated that Musk is behaving in an ignorant manner in his new role with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Gates emphasized that because cuts were unexpected, life-saving food and medicines were left to expire in warehouses, which could result in the return of more illness and disease.
“The picture of the world’s richest man killing the world’s poorest children is not a pretty one,” Gates told the Financial Times. “I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money.”
Musk cancelled grants to a hospital in Gaza Province, Mozambique, to prevent women from transmitting HIV to their babies, in the mistaken belief that the U.S. was delivering condoms to Hamas in Gaza in the Middle East.
A White House spokesperson defended the cuts and described Musk as “a patriot working to fulfill President Trump’s mission to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.”
“Who does Bill Gates think he is to make comments about the welfare of children, given that he frequented Jeffrey Epstein?” Musk noted during an interview at the Bloomberg Qatar Economic Forum. “I wouldn’t trust that guy to babysit my kids, I can tell you that.”
Gates met with Epstein several times before his death, including at least three get-togethers at the financier’s Manhattan townhouse, according to The New York Times.
Musk also acknowledged that he and Epstein met for a brief 30 minutes at the sex offender’s Manhattan home, and according to Vanity Fair, he also attended a dinner hosted by LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman with guests including Epstein and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
