Elon Musk reportedly had twins with an executive at one of his companies back in November 2021, weeks before his second child with the musician Grimes was born. Musk seemed to confirm the news when he tweeted Thursday that he is “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis.”

Legal documents showed that Musk, 51, and Shivon Zilis, 36, the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, filed a request for the twins to “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name in their middle name.” This request was reportedly granted by the court.

Neuralink was co-founded by Musk in 2016 and the company is attempting to develop a “sewing machine-like” machine that can implant Bluetooth-powered chips in the human brain. The idea has been criticized by neuroscientists for the overblown expectations of the product and the technical challenges it presents. The product was initially slated to begin human trials in 2020, but they have not kicked off yet.

Zilis has been working at the company since 2017. She also worked as an AI project director for Tesla from 2017 to 2019 and has served on the board of prominent AI research company Open AI since early 2020.

Musk is now the father of 10 children from relationships with Justine Wilson, Grimes, and Zilis. One of his children changed her full name to Vivian Jenna Wilson, dropping Musk’s surname because she doesn’t wish “to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

The billionaire has also been accused of sexual harassment by a former SpaceX employee, and other anonymous former employees stepped forward last year to say that the company’s HR team did not handle sexual harassment complaints properly.
