GRUENHEIDE, GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 03: Tesla head Elon Musk talks to the press as he arrives to to have a look at the construction site of the new Tesla Gigafactory near Berlin on September 03, 2020 near Gruenheide, Germany. Musk is currently in Germany where he met with vaccine maker CureVac on Tuesday, with which Tesla has a cooperation to build devices for producing RNA vaccines, as well as German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier yesterday. Tech mogul Elon Musk has reportedly bought a compound in Texas for $35 million, intended to be the primary residence for Musk’s 11 children and at least two of their mothers.
It is unknown how many of Musk’s children and mothers have moved into the mansion. It is apparent that not all of his kids will be living in the estate, as Musk is engaged in a vicious, highly public dispute with his daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson over her gender reassignment operation. He is also locked in a custody battle with the singer Grimes (born Claire Boucher), the mother of another one of his children.
Designed to mimic the luxurious properties in Tuscan, Italy, the estate is a 14,400 square feet villa, with a six-bedroom mansion situated directly behind it. As reported by The New York Times, Shivon Zilis and the three children she shares with Musk, Azure, Strider and a third whose name is unknown, have already moved into one of the homes on the property.
Musk and Grimes have been locked in a fierce custody battle over their three children, X A-12, Exa and Techno.
Online reactions to Musk’s new living situation have inspired reactions such as “weird” and “creepy.”
In recent years, Musk has been particularly concerned with declining birth rates. He has forcefully encouraged the public to have as many children as possible, as he continues on that same aspiration himself. In June he posted on X, “It should be considered a national emergency to have kids.”
He also previously declared the widely-known-to-be-false statement, “A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.”
According to the New York Times, Musk has not only fathered nearly a dozen children but has also offered up his sperm to friends and acquaintances, including Nicole Shanahan in 2022 (who declined) and a married couple he met a handful of times (it is unknown whether the couple proceeded with Musk’s DNA).
Furthermore, a woman who directly reported to Musk claimed he had, “asked her on multiple occasions to have his babies.” Although said woman rejected the offer, past employees of Musk’s are known to have taken him up on the proposal.
