Elizabeth Banks Blasts Mitt Romney's Position On Planned Parenthood In Pro-Obama Ad

Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks, 38, has a political message of her own, and it's distinctly pro-President Barack Obama and anti-Mitt Romney, primarily based on their differing positions regarding issues of women's health and Planned Parenthood.

"Planned Parenthood is something I care very deeply about," Banks says in a new Obama campaign video that was released Wednesday on YouTube. "Planned Parenthood was my health care provider when I didn't have insurance after I graduated college."

Romney has publicly talked about his intentions to try to defund Planned Parenthood. "Of course you get rid of Obamacare, that's the easy one," he told NBC affiliate KSDK in March. "Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that," he added.

Banks, who is emerging to voice her support of Obama, following in the footsteps of celebrities such as George Clooney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles, Anne Hatahway, Sarah Silverman, Morgan Freeman and a slew of others, minces no words when she talks about her disdain for Romney's policies and his position on Planned Parenthood.

"These services that they provide — what is it? Ninety-five percent of them don't involve anything controversial, so for that little 5 percent that Mitt Romney decides he doesn't agree with, he's going to take away cancer screenings?" Banks said. "What is he doing? He's going to take people's access to health care close by? We're talking about working-class ladies who need health care."
