For the longest time, the GoPro has been the camera synonymous with all of those first-person sports videos on YouTube. With Eken’s new H3 action camera, that’s about the change.
Founded in 2005, Eken Group Limited is a leader in the Chinese electronics industry, and it’s latest product continues that streak. The H3 Camera is a mountable, 4K device with the ability to shoot from 10fps to 60fps with an angle of 170 degrees. In laymen’s terms, the H3 provides a perfectly crisp, ultra-wide angle image. Beyond its imaging capabilities, Eken’s H3 has a dual screen for live previews of footage, a microUSB and HDMI input/output, and a battery life of just under an hour. The camera is also waterproof up to 30m/98ft deep and comes with a splash proof 2.4G remote with a 20m/66ft range.
Not ready to part with all of your GoPro gear? Don’t worry: all Eken Action Cams are compatible with GoPro accessories, and the H3 is as slim as the GoPro Hero 4.
A nice bonus of the wi-fi capability is the inclusion of Eken’s Ez iCam app, which allows videographers to review their work on a phone or tablet.
The H3 is currently available for purchase on Amazon for $74.99.
