Edited 'Bully' Documentary Gets PG-13 Rating

An edited version of Bully, the anti-bullying documentary being released by the Weinstein Co., has earned a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. The announcement comes a week after Harvey Weinstein said that he would release the original cut of Bully as "unrated" rather than with the R-rating that the MPAA famously slapped on it.

The MPAA gave the documentary an R-rating because of four-letter words heard in the film, igniting protests from stars like Ellen DeGeneres (pictured) and Justin Bieber, who sided with Michigan high school student Katy Butler's petition to change the rating. Butler, a victim of bullying herself, argued that the R-rating would prevent teens from seeing the film's positive message.
