Actress Edie Falco will be joining a star studded cast for FX’s Impeachment season of American Crime Story. This season will focus on the Bill Clinton, Monica Lewinsky scandal and Clinton’s 1998 impeachment.

Falco will play Clinton’s wife and future Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. The deal has been in the works for months and recently closed.

Falco’s Clinton will be joined by Clive Owen as Bill Clinton, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones, Billy Eichner as Matt Drudge and Betty Gilpin as Ann Coulter.

Impeachment is based on the book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by Jeffrey Toobin.

Sarah Burgess is writing and will executive produce with Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander, Alexis Martin Woodall, Hannah Fidell, Paulson and Feldstein. Monica Lewinsky, Henrietta Conrad and Jemima Khan are producers. Richard Shepard will produce and direct the season.

This show was originally scheduled to air in 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Murphy’s schedule. A new release date has not been announced yet.

This will be the third season of American Crime Story. This first season followed the OJ Simpson murder trial and the second season chronicled the murder of  Gianni Versace by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
