The late rocker Eddie Van Halen, who passed away from cancer in 2020, is the subject of an upcoming docuseries episode for REELZ titled Autopsy: The Last Hours Of Eddie Halen, which his family is none too happy about.
The Autopsy series premiered its 13th season on May 1, and Reelz said in a statement that it “responsibly explores the circumstances of the passing of well known and genuinely loved celebrities who the public cares about immensely.”
They claimed the series has received positive reception and it has made fans “more proactive for the benefit of their health and many who gain helpful perspective on health issues that might not otherwise receive attention.”
A preview for the special read “Eddie died at the age of 65 from cancer. But if caught early, Eddie’s disease had reasonable survival rates. So what happened?” The show’s host, forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Hunter, has given his thoughts on the passing of celebrities including Sean Connery, Chadwick Boseman, Eazy E, and Paul Walker.
Eddie’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen, and ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli, both went online to condemn the show. “F––k everyone that works on this show, and f––k you if you watch it,” Van Halen said plainly.
