Eddie Redmayne, the British actor who plays Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, married his fiancée Hannah Bagshawe on Monday in England.

Redmayne and Bagshawe’s marriage was confirmed to People magazine. “I am happy to confirm that Hannah and Eddie married today,” Redmayne’s rep said in a statement. “They celebrated with a small number of close family and friends.”

The couple married at Babington House in Somerset.

Redmayne, who has starred in Les Miserables and My Week with Marilyn, proposed to Bagshawe over Memorial Day weekend this year.  “He had been planning on it for awhile,” an insider told Us Weekly. “They have a very relaxed and supportive relationship … they seemed to have always known they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.”

Redmayne had said following the news of the engagement that he couldn’t wait to make it official. “I’m desperate. I’m jumping at the bit,” he told E! News. “I can’t wait to be married.”

Redmayne and Bagshawe, who works in PR, have reportedly been dating since early 2012.
