Ed Sheeran Confirms He’s Now Married To Cherry Seaborn

Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he is now married to his long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. The couple got engaged during January 2018, and in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God for his new album No. 6 Collaborations Project, which was posted on Sheeran’s YouTube channel, more details about the marriage are shared.

The interview itself is about 50 minutes, and it discusses the meaning behind each song. When discussing the song “Remember The Name,” which features Eminem and 50 Cent, Sheeran was asked about the lyric, “Watch how the lyrics in the song might get twisted / My wife wears red but looks better without the lipstick.”

“It was actually before me and Cherry got married,” Sheeran said. “And I knew that we’d be married by the point that the song came out, and I said, ‘watch how the lyrics might get twisted / my wife wears red but looks better without the lipstick.’ And I was like, cause someone’s going to hear that and be like ‘Oh they’re married’ and I didn’t know how that would be construed, but obviously it already came out.”

Sheeran spoke about how his wife sparked a bit of inspiration in him for his song “I Don’t Care,” which features Justin Bieber. “Bieber just got married. I just got married,” Sheeran said. “That song is about being at an industry event with the woman you love, or even the person you love, and kind of being like, ‘f— this, let’s just have fun ourselves. It was actually Cherry’s idea because she was like ‘Oh why don’t you get Bieber? Like, he’d be perfect for this, he just fits.”
