Ed Rodgers Reveals How Son Aaron Rodgers Became Estranged From Family, Brother Jordan Rodgers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has become estranged from his family because of his fame.
NFL QUARTERBACK AARON RODGERS ESTRANGED FROM FAMILY
Family patriarch Ed Rodgers opened up about Aaron and his brother Jordan Rodgers not being close with the family anymore. Jordan appeared on The Bachelorette last season and won. Jordan spoke about Aaron’s lack of communication and closeness on the show and the media picked up on it.
“One in the news is enough for us,” said Ed in a New York Times interview. “Fame can change things.” He confirmed that things went bad between Aaron and the rest of the family when he started dating actress Olivia Munn. Apparently, Aaron has not spoken to his parents or two brothers since 2014.
Ed disliked that their family matters became public because of his famous sons. “Airing public laundry is not what I would have chosen,” he said, but also added, “It’s good to have it all come out.”
Aaron has spoken very little on the matter, saying, “I just don’t think it’s appropriate talking about family stuff publicly.” He also admitted about his brother Jordan that, “I haven’t seen the show, to be honest with you, so it hasn’t really affected me a whole lot.”
Jordan, for his part, opened up to his future fiancee JoJo Fletcher on The Bachelorette. “I hadn’t seen the show before, so I didn’t really have an expectation, which may be naive on my part,” he admitted. “Family things are always tough, and they’re always tough to address, let alone on a TV show. But I knew I made a commitment to go on there and be honest with JoJo and make sure that she knew everything because we didn’t have any time off-camera and we were going to get to a proposal. So you have to be honest, you have to trust she believes in the person you are.”
