Eartha Kitt, the raspy-voiced singer who gave life to Catwoman on the '60s TV series Batman, died on Christmas Day in New York of colon cancer at 81. Kitt, known as an icon of 60s cool and especially for her sexy rendition of the Christmas standard Santa Baby, was a star of the stage, TV, movie and music worlds. After Kitt spoke out against American involvement in the Vietnam War at the White House in 1968, it took a decade for her career to recover. Busy till the end, she recently taped a PBS special which will air in February. (Photo: WENN)
